Surfing Waves

Hello all.

I've never surfed in my life but decided that I need a hobby that I can really get into and one which wont be dead easy and is kinda different to football and the like...so Surfing!

Anyways, I went to my local surf shop and the guy advised me that as a first board a 7'2" NSP Pop-out would be good so I bought it. I'm kinda lazy so I needed the investment as a kick up the butt so I stick at it.

Anyways I'll get to the point... I've since read (and this site is an example) that there is NO cred at all with a Pop-out. I know that at my stage (the stage before even getting the board wet) cred is not an issue but I hoped for a board that would last a while... If I'm walking through newquay in a years time with this thing am I open to abuse or are pop-outs not as bad a they're made out to be? Thanks for your input.

Basically its a cheaper and better way to start surfing with pop outs cause they take a basing and like I say, Their cheap.

If you stick at it you'll be ready to upgrade in no time. just don't expect people to be jumping out of your way.

Thanks for that... I guess I'll just have to get a wetsuit or 3 sorted and do the michelin man on a surfboard impression through winter so I can hopefully think about a new purchase in the summer or something.
