The TUDOR Nazaré Big Wave Challenge delivered an action-packed day of high-performance surfing at Praia do Norte, Portugal. Faced with towering waves and challenging conditions, athletes pushed their limits to claim top honors in men’s, women’s, and team categories.

Clement Roseyro Clinches Men’s Best Performance Award

Clement Roseyro (FRA) took the Men’s Best Performance Award with a combined score of 21.83. His standout moment came in Heat 1, where he posted an impressive 7.50. Returning for his second appearance at the event, Roseyro’s fearless approach set him apart.

“I’m grateful to Nic von Rupp, we’re a really good team. He taught me a lot, especially about driving the jet ski, and we push each other to perform.”

Lucas Chianca (BRA), a past winner, secured second place, while Scotland’s Ben Larg (SCO) completed the podium after receiving a last-minute entry into the event.

Justine Dupont Dominates Women's Best Performance Category

Returning to competition after the birth of her first child, Justine Dupont (FRA) delivered a commanding performance at Praia do Norte. Demonstrating precise control and commitment, she rode eight waves to secure the Women’s Best Performance Award.

“I used to have a lot of fear before. Now, after the baby, I’m more worried about my child, whether they are sleeping or eating. At least it takes my mind off the fear! We are a family team, we understand each other, and I’m really happy to be back here to perform.”

Von Rupp and Roseyro Secure Best Team Performance

The team of Nic von Rupp (POR) and Clement Roseyro (FRA) dominated from the start. Von Rupp’s ability to tow his partner into massive waves set the foundation, while Roseyro executed powerful maneuvers to secure the highest scores of the session.

“I fell a lot in the first heat, it was really bumpy, but I pushed really hard. Last year we should’ve won, so this year we came back, training really hard. It’s been a long season, we’ve put in the time here. We’re stoked Clement got two good scores today to get on top of the leaderboard.”

Defending champions Lucas Chianca (BRA) and Pedro Vianna (BRA) put up a strong challenge but ultimately had to settle for second place.
