Information about Asia

Asia is the largest continent on the planet and covers a whopping 29.4% of the worlds land mass. It is also quite a busy place population wise with 60% of the total world population residing there.

Asia Surfing Info and Details

Asia's eastern coastlines are on the Pacific Ocean, it's southern waves are found in the Indian Ocean, and the little surfed northern (read cold!) coastline is pounded by Arctic Ocean waves. Let's not forget the surf found on the Mediterranean also.

Probably the most popular Asian surfing destination would have to be Indonesia with it's quality waves and warm water. Once for the hardcore, places like Bali and Sumatra are now popular and easily accessible, and its once hidden gems are now widely known and visited.

Southern Indonesia receives all its swell from the Indian Ocean and some of the best surf comes from the big swells that are generated down in the roaring forties during the Southern Hemisphere winter. The countries on the Indian Ocean are also nice and tropical so bring your board shorts.
